Calon began after I had left my job and had many upcoming birthdays that I could not afford to buy presents for. My mother suggested that I make things instead, so I made my friend a patchwork cushion and she loved it! We (my mum and I) then decided to make lavender hearts as well as cushions. The feedback we received was very encouraging so we decided to go for it, and since then we have gone from strength to strength.

Sewing has been a prominent pastime throughout my family for many years; therefore it seemed like a natural step to continue this tradition. My mother taught me to sew at an early age and my first machine was donated to me by my Grandmother. We still own my Great-Grandmother’s Singer treadle sewing machine - although sadly it no longer works - but it does make a guest appearance on the website!

We put a lot of time and love into everything that we create so that the finished product is of high quality. We also aim to set reasonable prices that are fair to everyone. We strive to create pieces that are unique; and our products constantly evolve to reflect changing trends and styles.

Calon operates bilingually through English and Welsh. We are very proud to be doing something different by offering some of our products with hand-embroidered words on them in the Welsh language.

We like to operate in a very open and honest manner, so please get in touch if you have any questions, comments, or favours to ask! If there is a product you fancy but in a slightly different style or colour for instance, we will do our best to make whatever it is that you require.
